Half Day Military Vehicle Driving

This is a unique and unforgettable experience. Driving some of the world's toughest military vehicles is a thrill that cannot be experienced elsewhere. When you're in the drivers seat you can hear the loud engine roaring and any obstacle you come across, be it a steep incline or mud swamp, is easily dealt with. Anything is passable and in these vehicles you will be having the time of your life.

After you have registered there will be pre instruction and safety briefing on military vehicle driving before the action begins. Depending on your chosen location, you will be driving some of the following: an Armoured Personnel Carrier, a Chieftain Main Battle Tank, an Abbot Tank, 250cc Honda Quad Bikes, Stalwart 6 Wheel Drive, Snowcat, Sultan command vehicle, an American Humvee, a Pinzgauer 6 wheel drive all terrain troop carrier, a Ferret ML, a BRDM Russian APC, a BV206 Hagglund, a Bedford MJ 4x4 truck or a 4x4 Land Rover.

You will usually spend approximately 10 minutes in each vehicle driving over rough terrain. Programmes, timings and vehicles will vary slightly depending on the location.

Selected Monday to Sunday dates, March to November depending on location.

How long does this activity last?

Your heavy duty experience will last for about 3 to 4 hours.

You need to know

To participate in this activity you must be at least 18 years old, maximum age is 75 years.
The minimum height 1.42m (4ft 8), the maximum height is 1.98m (6ft 4). The maximum weight is 102kg (16 stone). You'll need a degree of flexibility, as some of the vehicles are tricky to get into.
You need to hold a full manual driving licence.

This is for a voucher entitling the holder to any of the activities supplied by Activity Superstore up to the value stated.

You and how many others?

They'll be a maximum of 19 other people in the group.

Family and friends

You may be able to take spectators along with you to watch depending on the chosen venue. Some sites do charge a spectator fee on the day.
